The main objectives for the development of the field of study are: To ensure the quality implementation of the programmes within the field of study, EDUhas developed a quality management system more details are providedin Paragraph 1. Each semester, surveys of students are conducted and ratings of the academic staff are created and subsequently taken into account by the management of the university when planning the teaching load for the next semester.
The survey results are summarised on a regular basis and made known to all parties concerned. Annual debates on the strengths and weaknesses, changes and developments in the study programmes and the university are planned at the Senate. The system of the internal self-assessment and quality improvement is functioning on a continuous basis.
Prospective evaluation of the field of study and programmes of study from the viewpoint of the interests of the Republic of Latvia The goals of the field of study are to train high classIT specialists required for the development of the country by providing quality studies for young professionals to be competent, able to compete in the professional environment in Latvia and abroad, motivated for professional growth and continuing education in the single European educationarea.
Quality criteria include international recognition, higher qualifications, ability to provide education for specialists for national needs whose knowledge, skills and attitudes are consistent with the requirements set forth in the national education standards and competencies laid down in the professional standards. By analysing the quality indicators, it can be concluded that the activity will take place respecting the public interest, in close collaboration with stakeholders, employers, and students.

The future graduates of the university help to establish a link between EDUand employers. The university will continue to improve forms of cooperation with social partners and employers also with regard to the future. Social partners and employers are involved in the events held by EDU, includingscientific research conferences, evaluation of the programmes of study, jointly organised seminars and other activities, thus providing feedback.
The EU-funded research projectDevelopment of a Sectoral Qualifications System and Increasing the Efficiency and Quality of Vocational Education was carried out in Latvia from to and involved executives from various industries who answered questions about the number of employees kase the moment, their remuneration, as well as the planned number of employees in the future. Based on the results, we can conclude that: The surveyed employers believe that the fields where their employees require additional knowledge and additional skills are the information technology and foreign languages.
