Cisnes Salvajes by Jung Chang A copy that has cosnes read, but remains in clean condition. More than anything else, it is an anti-Mao book. Chang’s parents were labeled as capitalist roaders and salvajea subjects of public struggle meetings and torture.
To have any clue of what was happening, you needed to keep a running family tree of an extremely complex family going, just to keep track of names. Wasn’t able to finish this book.

The book starts by relating the biography of Chang’s grandmother Yu-fang. I love books who can capture my attention the moment I open the first page and keep me interested till the end. Ok I got it, she hates Chairman Mao because she blamed him for her father’s downfall and subsequently her own falling from a Princess surrounded by servants and admirers to a “black kid”.
