Well-written with many strong examples.

A scene is a moment-by-moment recounting of things that happen, starting with a character goal, moving through conflict that prevents the character from reaching the goal, and finishing with a “disaster” that leaves the character worse off than before.
Unlike the newer book, the prose is denser and a bit more difficult to digest, but as my friend had promised, this older version of scene-writing was filled with lots of examples where structude concepts are broken down in detail, tagged, and clearly labeled as you try to put the concepts in the book into action.
